Isobel 'Liz' Taylor

Isobel "Liz" Taylor, 87, a 10-year resident of the Reno and Carson City areas, died Jan. 7, 2006, at the Carson Convalescent Center.

She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Walter B. McRobb and Elizabeth Duncan.

She lived in the midwest and Canada and also lived in Santa Rosa, Calif., for 55 years before moving to Northern Nevada.

She studied music and voice in San Francisco in the 1930s and 1940s. She worked 22 years for a major hotel chain in the public relations and management department. Prior to that, she was in entertainment.

She was a member of the Carson City Bunco group and various theater groups in Northern Nevada and California. She was a member of New Beginning's Church of Washoe Valley.

She is survived by her son Robert K. of Carson City, daughter Laurie E. Sadler and grandson Bennett R. Shores both of Washoe Valley.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Nevada Humane Society, 200 Kresge Lane, Sparks, NV 89431, or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), 840 E. Fifth St., Reno, NV 89431.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
