Joseph Buier, 81, a 40-year resident of Carson City, died Jan. 12, 2006, in Carson City.
He was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Hamtramck, Mich.
He worked an upholsterer and served in the Merchant Marines.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Buier, in 2005.
Among his survivors are his children Douglas Buier of Oregon, Barbara Franks of California and Karen Segale of Carson City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
