Ronald Lee McKimmy, 61, a 32-year Carson City and Reno resident, died Jan. 16, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1944, in Adrian, Mich., to Lee McKimmy and Viola Butler.
He received a degree in criminal justice and was a deputy sheriff.
He was a member of SASS Shooting Club and volunteered at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
He was preceded in death by his father, and son Jeffrey Sean McKimmy on July 7, 1981, in Reno.
Among his survivors are his fiancee Janet Ordal of Carson City; son Ron McKimmy Jr. of Reno; daughters Shannon McKimmy-Dietrich and Tiffany McKimmy, both of Reno; mother Viola Sisk of Claremont, Calif.; sisters Renee Crist of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Dana Clancy of California, and grandson Gunnar McKimmy.
Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
