A celebration of life for John T. Adams, 71, a longtime resident of Carson City, will be 6 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mr. Adams died June 8, 2006, at his residence. He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Wewoka, Okla., to Arthur T. Adams and Viola Cummings.

He married Charlotte Paul on Jan. 14, 1965, in Shelly, Iowa. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957 Adams was a heavy-equipment mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and playing golf.

Adams was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Richard.

He is survived by his wife of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Jim Benson of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Stefanie Adams of Carson City; son Scott Adams of Flint, Mich.; brother Don Adams of Bellingham, Wash.; sisters LaCrasha "Pat" Biggs of Yuma, Ariz.; Vivian Hammond of Washoe Valley; Anne Ringkob of Reno; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada, 673 S. Stewart St., Carson City, NV 89502; or the American Heart Association, 1281 Terminal Way, Reno, NV 89502.
