• INDIAN CREEK RESERVOIR, CALIF: Dave Kirby reported that he drove in by way of the back road. He advises that anyone else doing so, be sure that they are in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. He saw several fishermen but did not see them catch anything.

• PYRAMID LAKE, NEV: Carla Molino of the Pyramid Lake Store (775-476-0555) reported: "It seems like every other day is pretty good.

The shore and fly fishing has been good on windy and cold days.

The boat fishing has been good on nice days, when they can get out.

There were some nice 7-8 pounders caught over the weekend.

George (Pyramid Lake Charters) has not been out fishing many days. The other day, they caught 20 and their biggest was about 6 pounds.

He has been trolling with the usual colors of Apex lures."

• PYRAMID LAKE, NEV: Jerry at the Gilly, "Pyramid is dolling well at "The North Nets" for fly fishermen with white/Chartreuse Popcorn Beetles or black/red tail, brown or olive Woolly Bugger flies.

Spincasters should try Tui Chub or Fire Tiger spoons.

Boats should be trolling with large lures.

Joe Remington of Reno caught an 11-pound Cutthroat on Monday. He caught it at "The Nets" with an olive/light brown tail Woolly Bugger.

Another fly fisherman at "The Nets" caught a 29-inch Cutt that had a 10-inch Tui Chub in its mouth. He was also using a Woolly Bugger.

Bring your fish in to be registered and photographed for a drawing at the end of the season for a fly fishing rod and reel combo worth more than $800."

• LAKE TAHOE - North Shore:

Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters (800-877-1462): "There is no fishing report for last week as I was at the Reno Boat Show.

The fishing has been good, when I have been out.

We have been getting our Mackinaw trout early in the morning, and tagging and releasing the smaller ones.

We have been catching lots of fish, but nothing big.

I've been trolling the deep-water area in front of Carnelian Bay and King's Beach with silver Herring Dodger flasher blades with live minnows or large Apex lures."

• LAKE TAHOE - North Shore:

Gene St. Denis of Blue Ribbon Charters and Tahoe Trophy Trout at South Lake Tahoe, Calif. (530-544-6552): "Basically the same report as for last week: We have been trolling for Macks with silver Herring Dodger flasher blades and live minnows at depths of 120-250 feet, along the edges of the drop-offs. The fishing has been slow to excellent, dependent on the wind. I've been fishing Agate Bay, Cal Neva Point and Dollar Point, and we are picking up Macks, 2-7 pounds."

• LAKE TAHOE - South Shore: Gene St. Denis: "Basically the same report as for last week: Fishing has been slow to excellent, dependent on the wind. I've been trolling at Ski Run Mound, Ski Run Shelf and Camp Richardson.

We have been trolling 120-250 feet deep with silver Herring Dodger flasher blades and live minnows.

Our biggest Mack this last week was 35 inches in 120 feet of water at Ski Run Shelf.

We caught a 22-inch brown in 20 feet of water on a rainbow Rapala lure at Camp Richardson."

• LAKE TAHOE - East Shore:

Gene St. Denis: "Toplining has been off and on, from Zephyr Cove to Deadman's Point for mostly Macks, 3-8 pounds. We are toplining at 20-40 feet deep."

• TOPAZ LAKE: Chuck Fields of the Topaz Lake Marina (775) 266-3550 reported: "There was a 5-pound, 8.5 ounce rainbow caught yesterday (Sunday).

It was caught by Tom Garcia of Gardnerville. He also had a 2-pound, 8-ounce rainbow in his limit.

He was trolling the north end of the lake with a "Clown" Rapala lure.

It was very windy on Saturday.

There were lots of people on Sunday with lots of limits for the boats.

The fish were running up to about 1.5 pounds and they were being caught in the top 10 feet of the water with Rapala lures.

Shore fishing has been best on the west-south end of the lake with either nightcrawlers or Power Bait.

There has also been some action on the north end."

• TRUCKEE RIVER, NEV: Jerry at the Gilly: The river is still high, with water flows over 900 CFS.

Your best bet is to spincast with small Panther/Martin lures.

Work the cutbanks and small pools to pick up the fish.

• WALKER LAKE, NEV: Gene Phelps of Carson City reported his fishing party got skunked on Tuesday. They fished in their chest waders at "The Cliffs" and the north end.

• WILDHORSE RESERVOIR, NEV: Linda Hudson at the Wild Horse Resort (775) 758-6472: "It rained yesterday and it is supposed to snow today (Tuesday).

The ice is about 2 feet thick and they are catching lots of perch and some big trout.

The trout are about 6-8 feet below the ice and the perch are down about 20-30 feet.

Fish for the trout with lures like Kastmaster or with nightcrawler and slowly jig, up and down.

Fish for the perch with small, white-colored, lead-head jigs with a plastic tail, together with a mealworm or party-sized marshmallow on the hook. Drop that combination down to the bottom, bring it up about 1-2 turns on the reel handle and slowly jig, up and down."
