CARSON JVS 73, HUG 62

Caleb Carter scored 26 points as the Carson junior varsity boys basketball team gave Hug its first league loss.

Carson led 33-31 at halftime and the group of Drew Good, Markus Adams, Matt Tillit, Drew Heller and Adam Haney played well defensively in the third quarter as Carson extended its lead to 52-47. Tillit took a number of charges on the defensive end. Zack Rispin also did a solid job running Carson's offense.

Will Holbert scored nine of his 16 points in the first quarter, Paul Cagle had 10 points, Mitch Brantingham had nine points, Tillit had five points, Haney had four points, Eller added two points and Good had a key basket at the end of the third quarter to give Carson a 52-47 lead for his only two points. Carter also made 9-of-12 free throws.
