According to a press release by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), Nevada fishing and hunting licenses for 2006-07 will be available for sale at NDOW customer service offices and online through the agency's web site beginning on Monday, Feb. 6.

Nevada's license year runs from March 1 through the end of February, so licenses that are purchased in February for 2006-07 will not be valid until March 1.

This is the first year that anglers and hunters will be able to purchase their licenses online.

Until now, Nevada hunting and fishing licenses could only be obtained at NDOW offices and at sporting goods stores and bait and tackle shops.

Also for the first time, hunters can purchase mountain lion hunting tags through NDOW's web site.

However, hunters have to wait for their tags to arrive in the mail before they can begin their hunts.

Fees for Nevada's hunting and fishing licenses and stamps are the same as last year. Mountain lion tags have increased by $3 because they now include a predator management fee.

Licenses, stamps and tags as well as hunting and fishing information are available online at www.ndow.org.
