Ken 'Bones' Jones

A funeral for Ken "Bones" Jones, 67, a 20-year Silver Springs resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Jones died June 30, 2006 at home. He was born Nov. 2, 1938, in Little Rock, Ark., to Othello Jones and Areda Gallagher.

He married Carolyn Steppe.

Before moving to Silver Springs, Mr. Jones lived in Arkansas.

He owned and operated Diving Salvage Co. in Arkansas, and was the bartender at the Pit Stop for 12 years.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years.

He was a member of various E Clampus Vitus Chapters in Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife, Carolyn Jones of Silver Springs; sister, June Dow of Modesto, Calif.; brother, James Jones of Silver Springs; and several extended-family members.
