Mormon Station State Historic Park will reopen Saturday. The park has undergone major construction, and visitors will see several new additions to the park.
Additions include a new log cabin restroom, stamped concrete walkways, Victorian-style drinking fountains, and a new barbecue in the pavilion group use area, according to Park Supervisor Suzanne Sturtevant.
"Thanks to the Town of Genoa, the Friends of Snowshoe Thompson and the Support Historic Genoa Committee, there are now seven new Victorian-style benches throughout the park," she said.
Mormon Station State Historic Park has expanded to 3.5 acres and additional park improvements are expected to continue into the future.
Museum hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. Beginning this year, there is a $2 museum admission fee for those 13 and older; children 12 and younger are free. Visitors will be able to picnic in the park, enter the stockade and see the wagon shelter at no charge.
