A celebration of life for Oralee Thomas, 78, a longtime Northern Nevada resident, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the home of Dr. Gregory and Cynthia Chech in Carson City.

Ms. Thomas died July 12, 2006, in Carson City.

She was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Los Angeles to Orie and Nedra Thomas.

She moved to Northern Nevada in 1950, returning to Southern California in 1981 then moving back to Nevada in 1994.

She worked at Harold's Casino in Reno through the 1960s, and at First Interstate Bank then Wells Fargo Bank for 20 years until her retirement in 1996.

She was a member of the Gem and Mineral Club in Reno and enjoyed music, reading, dancing, travel, birding and spending time with her family and her dog, Cricket.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Cynthia Chech of Carson City; grandson Connor J. Chech; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
