The Carson 13-year-old Babe Ruth all-star team opened with a resounding 25-0 win over Elko in the State Tournament on Saturday at Reno's Clayton Middle School.
Mark McCraw had a grand slam home and and two doubles, Ricky McDonald had three hits, including a double and a tirple and Clay Holton and David Holcomb each doubled.
Holton, Shea Bondi and Bryce Altus combined for a one-hit shutout on the mound. Carson will play at 7 p.m. today against Reno West at Clayton Middle School.
