Senior menus

The following menus are for the week of July 31-Aug. 4 and subject to change without notice. Choice of beverages is included with meals:

Carson City

The lunch menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive:

Monday: Cobb salad with chicken, egg and bacon, fresh bread, carrot, tomato, onions salad, strawberries, sherbet.

Tuesday: Barbecued pork riblets, taters and beans, green salad, applesauce, coleslaw, Jell-O.

Wednesday: Tahitian chicken, rice casserole, braised red cabbage, tangerine, whole-wheat bread.

Thursday: Roast pork with gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, ambrosia salad, wheat roll.

Friday: Meatloaf with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed spinach, Chantilly fruit cup, whole-wheat bread.

Douglas County

The menu for the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane:

Monday: Barbecue beef, potato wedges, spring-mix salad, pineapple cup, banana cake.

Tuesday: Charleston chicken, pea salad, rice, seven-grain roll, pears, chocolate cream pie.

Wednesday: Meatloaf, green salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, fresh fruit.

Thursday: Pork chops, cottage cheese & peaches, stuffing, German-blend vegetables, applesauce, cookie.

Friday: Taco salad bowls, shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, salsa, Spanish rice, sliced apples.

Dayton

The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, spinach salad, zucchini, apple, garlic bread.

Tuesday: Summer stew, mixed veggies, cornbread with butter, green salad, pears, cookies.

Wednesday: Pork fajitas, stir-fry veggies, rice, apple, fortune cookie.

Thursday: Chicken-noodle casserole, mixed veggies, roll, butter, peach cobbler.

Friday: Breakfast, 9-10 a.m. - Sausage and egg muffin, hash browns, peaches, V8 and orange juice.

Silver Springs

The menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Way:

Monday: Pizza or fish filet, green beans with tomatoes and mushrooms, corn, cake with peaches.

Tuesday: French dip, mixed veggies, apple crisp, pasta salad.

Wednesday: Pepper steak, rice pilaf, asparagus, honeydew melon, bread with butter, pudding.

Thursday: Polish sausage, sauerkraut, peas, peaches, rye bread, cookies.

Friday: Baked pollack, stewed tomatoes, potato wedges, fruit cocktail with coconut and marshmallows, cornbread.

Fernley

The menu for the Fernley Senior Center 1170 W. Newlands Dr:

Monday: Unavailable.

Tuesday: Macaroni and cheese with ham, broccoli, roll with butter, raspberry-cranberry Jell-O salad.

Wednesday: Chili burger with chili beans, cheddar cheese, onions, mixed veggies, tater tots, watermelon, ice cream.

Thursday: Corned beef with cabbage, carrots, potatoes, rye bread, fresh fruit, banana pudding.

Friday: Fishsticks, coleslaw, rice pilaf, bread with butter, tartar sauce, pears, cookies.

Storey County

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Ortega chile-and-cheese quesadilla, tomato soup, cottage cheese lettuce wrap, fruit.

Tuesday: French dip sandwich, potato salad, broccoli, cake.

Wednesday: Oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed- veggie salad, bread pudding.

Thursday: Zesty pork chop, stuffing, copper pennies, Jell-O with fruit.

Friday: Chili dog, fresh veggies and dip, chips and dip, peach crisp.
