A celebration of life for Robert Edward McChesney, 58, a 13-year Gardnerville resident, will be 6 p.m. Monday at the Minden Park.
Mr. McChesney died July 23, 2006, at his home. He was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Virginia to Robert Edward McChesney and Ruth Guptel.
He married Marlyse Pershing on June 24, 1971, at Fallen Leaf Lake.
Before moving to Gardnerville, Mr. McChesney lived at South Lake Tahoe.
He was a substance-abuse counselor with the state of Nevada.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
He enjoyed writing, and camping in his teepee at Lake Tahoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kay McChesney.
Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Sonnet and Chris Hogbin of South Lake Tahoe; son Cody McChesney of Gardnerville; sister Patty Ryan of San Francisco and grandchildren Tyler, Payton and Baylee Hogbin of South Lake Tahoe.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
