A memorial service for Milton Nielsen, 82, a 10-year Carson City resident, will be 6 p.m. June 24 at the Nielsen residence.

Mr. Nielsen died May 1, 2006, in St. Charles, Mo., while visiting his daughter.

He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Aroma Park, Ill.

He graduated from Northwestern University with an Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

He was the retired President of Automation Methods Inc.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He enjoyed woodworking and traveling the world. He volunteered with the Nevada State Railroad Museum, the Boy Scouts of America, and several other organizations.

Among his survivors are his wife, Mitzi, of Carson City; son, Donald Nielsen of Riverside, Calif.; daughters Kathleen Brown of St. Charles, Cynthia Nielsen of Irvine, Calif., and Kerry Grana of Temecula, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St., Carson City, NV, 89701.

St. Louis Cremation in St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
