Children can learn how to make an ice cream soda at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada's "Ice Cream Soda Day," 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Roadrunners to hold second campout


The Carson City Roadrunners RV Club's second campout of the year will be at Frenchman Reservoir on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.


All Roadrunners outings are open to anyone interested in RV camping during the summer. Call 885-9323.

The Carson City Republican Women will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carson Nugget.

Douglas County


St. Gall accepts rummage sale donations


St. Gall Catholic Church will hold its Annual Awesome Rummage Sale Aug. 4 and 5.


Large items such as trailers, boats and horse trailers can be donated and a tax-deductible receipt will be given. Large donated items will be picked up this month.


Starting in July, items may be dropped off at the Pastoral Center at 1343 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.

Pet microchip/ vaccination clinic


Douglas Animal Welfare Group will sponsor a Pet Microchip/Vaccination Clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Animal Shelter. Microchips cost $30 per animal, which includes the microchip and registration fee. DAWG will mail the microchip application and fee directly to AVID's nationwide database. Vaccinations for dogs, cats and ferrets will be provided.

There will be a seminar on nutrition in regards to farmers markets Wednesday at the Washoe County Senior Center, East Ninth and Sutro streets in Reno.
