Mound House armed robbery, car-jacking leads to four arrests

An armed robbery and car-jacking at a Mound House restaurant Friday morning led to the arrest of four suspects on robbery and drug charges.

At about 3:21 a.m. Friday, Lyon County deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery and vehicle theft at NV50. The victim led deputies to a home in the 200 block of Miriam Way in Mound House. The type of weapon used was not released.

Lyon County Detective Cherie Rye said the victim, a 26-year-old male, sustained "severe injuries," and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle after being checked by medics.

At the Miriam Way home, deputies called out four suspects. Subsequent checks of the home revealed three additional suspects, who were also detained. Deputies served a search warrant at 11 a.m. and reportedly recovered drugs and paraphernalia.

Brent Robinson, 19, of Pennsylvania, was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery with a deadly weapon, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $180,000.

Jose Salas, 20, of Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing and resisting a peace officer. Bail was set at $1,132. The incident that led to Salas' arrest resulted while he was in custody at the Dayton substation.

The primary residents of the home, Christian Cespetes, 22, and Jacqeline Rodriguez, 22, were arrested on felony maintaining a residence for the purpose of sales or use of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Rodriguez's bail was set at $21,132.

Cespetes was also arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and his bail was set at $22,264.

The other three suspects, all male, were released pending a review by the district attorney for narcotics violations.
