Shirley Sherwood, 88, a Carson City resident since 1958, died June 11, 2006.
She was born Oct. 21, 1917.
She was a dancer in a troupe known as the Sherwood Trio, alongside June Taylor from the Jackie Gleason Show. The Sherwood Trio entertained the troops with the USO. After leaving the trio, Mrs. Sherwood ran the Sherwood Dance Studio in Carson City, then worked at the Carson City Nugget as a cashier for 16 years.
Among her survivors are husband, Bob Sherwood; daughter, Cheri Sherwood; sister, Sylvia Cudworth; sister-in-law, Miriam Kent; three nephews; and one niece.
Washoe Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
