Highway 95 A that was closed at 4:30 p.m. due to the Virginia fire has been reopened.
The 400-acre fire burning northeast of Stagecoach was threatening the highway and the Fernley-Reno Raceway, but the immediate danger has passed, according to Lyon County Sheriff's dispatch.
