Those raising others' kids can get support


A support group for grandparents and other family members raising other's children will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. March 16, at Behavioral Health Services, Ross Building, 1001 N. Mountain St., Suite 3H. Call 888-0148.


Antique, collectible and flea show planned


Antiques, collectibles and flea show will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St.


There will be furniture, quilts, vintage jewelry and clothing, books, pottery and several other types of wares.


The Carson City Emblem Club will sell homemade food. There will be free antique appraisal (no art or jewelry) on Sunday. Admission is $1 per person. Call 267-2557.


Concert features young musicians


The Capital City Community Band will feature student musicians at their annual "Children's Concert" at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center on Highway 50. Call 883-2219.


Retirement satellite broadcast to be held


Edward Jones investment representative Joe Lushina of Carson City will host a free satellite broadcast titled "Living retirement to the max: Your guide to an active and fulfilling retirement." at 3:30-5:30 p.m. March 14 at 1079 S. Carson St. Call 841-6767.


Lake Tahoe


Youth orchestra to play at "String Fling"


Carson City Symphony's "Strings in the Schools" youth orchestra has been invited to join the "String Fling" at 7 p.m. March 14, in South Lake Tahoe High School's Little Theater.


Admission is $5 general, $2 for seniors, and free for those aged 18 and under. Call 267-6924.


Reno


"Resident Alien" to play at Brüka Theatre


"Resident Alien," an "intergalactic comedy" written by Stuart Spencer, will show at the Brüka Theatre in Reno weekends from March 10 through April 8 at 8 p.m. There will be two matinees on Thursday and April 26 at 2 p.m.

Junior League to hold Healthy Kids Fair


The Junior League of Reno and several other organizations are holding the seventh annual Healthy Kid's Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Park Lane Mall in Reno.


This is a free event and includes health, safety, and wellness information. There will be live entertainment.


All children will receive a free "goodie" bag and have an opportunity to enter a raffle drawing. Call 826-0445.
