Brüka Theatre is presenting Nevada’s history in 50 minutes, a wildly western, fast paced, humorous romp through the state’s colorful 150 years, in showings in Reno and Carson City.

The collaboration between Brüka Theatre and the Carson City Ghost Walk is created by Mary Bennett, Gary Cremeans II and Robert Grant and will have public performances at Brüka Theatre and the Brewery Arts Center in celebration of Nevada’s Sesquicentennial.

Using the base of Nevada’s diverse history, the actors play three characters that deem themselves experts of some kind, doing their best to get through the great history of Nevada in a vaudevillian sketch-style presentation.

Performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. Nov. 6-8 and 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at Brüka Theatre, 99 N. Virginia St. in Reno. Carson City performances will be at 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Brewery Arts Center.

Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $12 for general. According to organizers, the show is appropriate for ages 8 and up.

Brüka Theater is in its 22nd season. It presents contemporary award winning plays, melodramas, musicals and comedies that often explore social questions about class, love and existence. This season also includes festival-style theatre and “one night only” performances.
