Rasner, Bergman make Yankees debuts

Carson High graduate Darrell Rasner made a successful debut for the New York Yankees in their spring training game on Saturday, a 4-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.

Rasner pitched two scoreless innings in relief, striking out two, walking none and allowing one hit.

Fellow CHS graduate Dusty Bergman also made his debut with the Yankees on Saturday. Bergman finishing up, pithing the ninth inning. He allowed one run on four hits. Bergman minimized the damage when he picked off a runner at first.

Carson Valley Men's Golf seeks members

The Carson Valley Men's Golf Club is now accepting membership applications for 2006.

The first tournament will be on Sunday, March 26 at the Carson Valley Golf Course and there will be tournaments held on Sunday mornings through Nov. 5. There will be a free awards banquet for all members after the tournament on Nov. 5.

Dues are $55, which includes Northern Nevada Golf Association membership. All tournaments are handicapped and flighted, giving everyone a chance to win money.

There will be tournaments in individual stroke play, two and four man best ball, eclectic, Stableford, Nassu and scrambles. There will also be President's Cup and Club Championship tournaments.
