Estes strikes out five in four innings

With the exception of one big shot, Douglas High graduate Shawn Estes had another solid effort in his second outing of spring training for the San Diego Padres in a 15-10 loss to the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Estes allowed a three-run home run to Ian Kinsler. But otherwise, Estes was solid as struck out five and walked two while allowing three hits over four innings. In two appearances, Estes has a 3.86 earned run average, allowing three runs in seven innings.
