Richard R. Scheerer, 84, a 34-year Carson City resident, died March 9, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Scheerer was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Los Angeles, to Adolph Henry and Goldie Scheerer.
He married Ann Scheerer on Sept. 17, 1951, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Carson City he lived in Southern California.
He worked as a prop master for many years in the motion picture industry in films such as the "Music Man," "My Fair Lady," and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe."
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He enjoyed woodworking and bowling, having bowled in several leagues in Carson City.
Among his survivors are his wife of 54 years, of Carson City; son Brent Scheerer, of Reno; brother Benjamin E. Scheerer, of Southern California; grandchildren Lori Kruskol, Jody Holley, Brett Scheerer, Brendy Scheerer, Dana Porte, Michael Fox and his wife Heather, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
