Obituary: Richard Thut

Richard R. Thut, 86, a Carson City resident for the past three years, died Jan. 17, 2003, in Carson City. He was born May 26, 1916, in Visalia, Calif., to George and Lena Jarrett Thut.

He attended high school in Visalia and San Francisco.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Incline Village for 12 years.

Mr. Thut was the owner and operator of a dry-cleaning business in San Francisco. He was a member of the Lake Tahoe Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club and the Foresters and was very active in motorcycling, dirt biking and skiing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son Richard, a brother and a grandchild.

Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law George W. and Judy of Incline Village; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Inurnment will be in a California cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
