SCOUTING NMSU: The Aggies were supposed to play Utah on Monday and Tuesday, but weather wiped out both games. New Mexico State enters the three-game series on an eight-game win streak. The Aggies boast eight hitters batting .300 or better - Hopkins, Aguirre, Long, Rodden, Lance, Harvey, Maytubby and Fields - entering the series. Pitching has been the team's Achilles heel. The staff has an ERA of 8.10. The Aggies are 8-2 when scoring 10 or more runs and the Aggies are 1-10 when scoring six or fewer runs. Fields is coming off a 5-for-5 effort against BYU in an 8-6 loss.

SCOUTING NEVADA: Nevada hitters got well at the expense of Northern Illinois' pitching staff en route to a five-game sweep of the Huskies. Scobee was named the WAC's top hitter after going 7-for-15 with four homers, six RBI and 10 runs scored last week ... David Ciarlo and Leo Radkowsky have switched defensive positions. Ciarlo moving over to short and Radkowsky to second ... The Nevada bullpen was 3-0 with a 3.42 ERA in 23 2/3 innings against Northern Illinois ... Bowman is on a 7-game hitting streak, and he's hitting .467 (14-for-30) in that stretch.
