A celebration of life for Leonard E. Duke, 61, a 20-year Carson City resident, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hilltop Community Church.
Mr. Duke died March 18, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1944, in Phoenix to S. Leonard and Iona Duke.
He married Judy Duke on July 10, 1970, in Temple City, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Reno for seven years.
He graduated from Phoenix Christian High School, and attended Western Nevada Community College and Truckee Meadows Community College.
He was a computer operator for 16 years throughout California and Nevada.
He belonged to the Toastmasters in California, the Sparks Nazarene Church and the Hilltop Community Church. He was a volunteer for RSVP at Computer Corps.
He was preceded in death by his father in November of 1998, and nephew Brent Covey in August 1979.
Among his survivors are his mother of Duarte, Calif.; his wife of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Matt Michaelson of Reno; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Covey of San Jose, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Helen Duke of Issaquah, Wash.; and numerous extended-family members.
Ashes will be scattered over Lake Tahoe in the summer.
