Two people were injured in an accident at Graves Lane and Highway 50 East on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Ron Larson, a red Jeep was eastbound on Highway 50 East just before 4 p.m. when it failed to stop for a red light and struck a white, northbound Jeep on Graves Lane.

Larson said both drivers, the sole occupants of the vehicles, were transported to the hospital with the white Jeep's driver going to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, and the red Jeep's driver going to Washoe Medical Center by ambulance due to the weather. The names of the victims were not available.

Larson said the driver of the red Jeep sustained more serious injuries, which he described as moderate, because the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
