• A 24-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested at 12:37 a.m. Thursday in the 3900 block of Village Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor probation violation. Bail was set at $3,000.
• A 36-year-old clerk from Carson City was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of two counts of misdemeanor embezzlement and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses. Bail was set at $3,396.

• A caller reported finding "a half-dead bat" that hissed at her, in her yard on Prospector Drive. A deputy was going to retrieve the bat when the woman called back and said she was turning the bat over to a "bat expert."
