Lowell Martin Henderson, 84, a Carson City resident since 1993, died May 5, 2006, at home.

Mr. Henderson was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Illinois to Joel Martin Henderson and Grace Lacey.

He married Joanne Henderson Jan. 25, 1992, in Downey, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Downey.

He was a retired purchasing agent for Xerox.

Mr. Henderson served in the U.S. Navy.

He belonged to the Elks Lodge in Downey; the Moose Lodge in Maywood, Calif.; and the Eagles Lodge of Bellflower, Calif.

He enjoyed pool, cooking and telling jokes.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy E. Henderson; sister Dorothy; and brother Carl Henderson.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son Lowell Martin Henderson Jr. of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Richard Wayne and Connie Henderson of Las Vegas; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Dee and Lowell Lacy of Riverside, Calif.; sister Marilyn Parker of Missouri; brothers Harland W. Henderson and Dale Henderson, both of Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
