Carson City investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who robbed a title-loan business this week.

On Monday the man entered Speedee Cash at 901 S. Carson St. about 1 p.m. and slid a note to the clerk demanding cash, said Detective Brian Humphrey.

"Then, because the clerk wasn't moving, the suspect says something to the effect of 'You better hurry up, don't make me pull out my gun,' and he reaches into his pocket," Humphrey said.

The robber then walked around the counter, moved the clerk out of the way and grabbed the cash out of the register, along with a green Nevada State Bank bag.

Before leaving the store, the man stuffed the money and bag into his right pants pocket and was last seen walking north on Carson Street.

The episode, which lasted just under a minute, was captured on the store's surveillance camera.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 11-inches tall, with a short, light-colored goatee. He was last seen wearing black pants, white shoes and a black hat with a brim. His gray and black, short-sleeved, baseball jersey had the word "Playerz" across the front and the numbers "69" covering the back and in the lower left front of the shirt. The suspect was also wearing black gloves with some type of white graphic, either words or a picture on the top.

"My hope is that someone is going to recognize that shirt and call us," said Humphrey.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department at 887-2020, ext. 1402. Secret Witness is offering a reward.
