Thanks to a generous grant from the Northern Nevada Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, mammograms will be available free of charge for women of any age who are uninsured or under-insured throughout the months of May, June and July.


The Mammovan will be available at the following times, dates, and locations:


7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. May 15, FISH, 138 E. Long St., Carson City.


9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. May 16, Washoe Tribal Health Clinic, 1559 Watasheamu Rd., Gardnerville.


7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. July 17, Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid St., Silver Springs.


7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. July 21, FISH, 138 E. Long St., Carson City.


7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. July 26-27, Incline Village/Children's Cabinet, 865 Tahoe Blvd., Incline Village.


7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. July 28, St. Paul's Lutheran Family Comm., 1201 N. Saliman Rd., Carson City.

Proscenium Players to hold auditions


Proscenium Players, Inc. will hold auditions for "Death of a Salesman" by Arthur Miller at 7 p.m. May 22 and 23 at the classroom at the Brewery Arts Center at 449 W. King St.

Children's Museum holds coloring contest


The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and PIP Printing are hosting the 23rd Annual Carson City Rendezvous Coloring Contest for ages 1-11.


Coloring pages can be picked up at the Children's Museum and must be turned in no later than May 31st.

High Desert Horsemen hold Mother's Day Ride


The High Desert Horsemen are holding a Mother's Day Ride/Drive and Scavenger Hut at 10 a.m. today at 215 David Avenue in Stagecoach.


Bring instant mashed potatoes as a ride fee, to be used in Thanksgiving baskets. Members only.


Applications are available on the day of the drive. Cost is $5 for scavenger hunt participants.
