The public is invited to attend any or all of the various Nevada Ranger District open houses planned throughout the state this week.
From 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bartley Regional Park Ranch in Reno, there will be an open house.
Another open house is Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at WNCC's Douglas Campus in Minden.
There are also open houses planned for Winnemucca, Elko, Austin, Ely and Tonopah.

Weather spotter class to be held Thursday
The National Weather Service will be holding a weather spotter training class in Carson City Thursday. Weather spotters are volunteers who directly report hazardous or severe weather information to the National Weather Service in Reno.
The information is used by weather forecasters to issue warnings which helps save lives and property. Weather spotters report snowfall amounts, strong winds, heavy rain, hail, flooding, and even tornadoes. The weather spotter class provides training on observing and reporting extreme weather associated with thunderstorms and winter storms. For information, call 673-8100, ext. 223.
