A graveside service for Ruth Elaine Rich, 85, a 13-year Dayton resident, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora, Calif. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Rich died May 17, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 25, 1920 in Texas to Marion Manwarren and Edith Crombie.
She married Ben D. Rich at Lake Tahoe in 1961.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in San Ramon, Calif., for several years.
She sang with the Wayne Newton group from 1948-49, and was the circulation manager for a southern California newspaper.
She was a sponsor of the Heart Association and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Paula Levand of Dayton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
