Carson City


Roadrunners to hold first campout


The Carson City Roadrunners RV club will begin its summer season of three-day camping outings starting today, Wednesday and Thursday through October.


The camp outing will be at the Weed Heights RV Park west of Yerington. A potluck meal will be shared tonight and a club meeting held on Thursday. The public is welcome to attend the campout. Campouts are generally held within 100-125 miles of Carson City. For information, call 883-5311.


Archaeologist to present "Operation Indian Rocks"


BLM Archaeologist Tim Canady will be presenting "Operation Indian Rocks and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act," a lecture discussing the prosecution of those people disturb archeological sites, at 7:30 p.m. today at the Nevada State Museum.

Interactive hospital exhibit to open at Children's Museum


The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will unveil its latest interactive exhibit featuring the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday with free museum play and refreshments.

Elder-abuse topic of presentation


There will be a free presentation on elder abuse at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Storey County Senior Center, 100 Six Mile Canyon Road.

Used-pet sale slated at shelter by DAWG


Douglas Animal Welfare Group will sponsor a Used Pet Sale adoption event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 921 Pinenut Road across from the county fairgrounds in Gardnerville.


A free spay/neuter is provided for every adult animal adopted during the event.


Lots of goodies and give-a-ways will also be provided with every adoption.
