A rosary will be said for Frances Naomi Miner, 76, a Yerington resident, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 N. West St. in Yerington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Miner died May 21, 2006 at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Reno to Clarence and Ethel Fredericks Schmaling.
She married Marvin Miner on Dec. 28, 1963, in Yerington.
She received a teaching degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1952 and taught in McGill for five years before moving to Yerington. She retired after 30 years in the Yerington school system.
She enjoyed making and collecting baskets.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Jeffrey; sister, Lorraine Wines; father; and stepfather, Alfred Schmid.
Among her survivors are her mother; daughter and son-in-law, Marva and John Cleven; six nieces; two nephews; and one granddaughter.
Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Smith. A reception will follow at the Catholic Hall.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
