A funeral Mass for Ardith Askins, 94, a 15-year resident of Susanville, Calif., will be 11 a.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington. Mrs. Askins died Aug. 30, 2007, in Susanville.
She was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Yerington to James and Hilda Barton.
She married William Donald Askins in 1930.
Mrs. Askins graduated from Yerington High School in 1930.
She was a member of the Yerington Music Association, Community Concert Association, PEO Sisterhood and Holy Family Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the piano.
Mrs. Askins was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, brothers Jack at age 4 and Benjamin in 2002.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Joseph Harvey, of Susanville; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Sandra Askins, of Yerington; grandchildren, Leslie Dandois and her husband Dale of Reno, James Dandois and his wife Nicole of Janesville, Christopher Askins of Yerington, Jeffrey Askins of Verdi and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
Burial will be at a family plot in Valley View Cemetery.
