Joanne Elaine Oakes-Solen, 77, a 14-year Carson City resident, died May 22, 2006 in Carson City.
Mrs. Solen was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Nebraska to Hugo Lutz and Vera Keaton.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Bainbridge Island, Wash.
She was an executive assistant and an Episcopalian.
She enjoyed genealogy, traveling, knitting and reading.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce A. Tidholm; and by second husband, William C. Oakes.
Among her survivors are her husband of 14 years, Mayer Solen; children Leslie Sandberg, Ellen Conry, Gerrie Austin and Marilee Oakes; brother, Dale Lutz; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
