Bad weather last weekend proved that you should not trust Mother Nature in this part of the country at this time of the year.

Hmmm, wonder how many unsuspecting folks lost their tomato and squash plants, plus many of their annual flowers?

Doug and Renee Busey of Douglas County were camped at Indian Creek Reservoir, last week, when a large black bear decided to visit their campsite during the night, looking for food.

Wanna guess who shooed it away. Yep, Renee!

Last Thursday, Jim Quilici of Carson City came back from a two-week vacation trip in Hawaii. Then, last Saturday morning, he shoveled 5 inches of snow from the deck of his cabin near Davis Lake, Calif.

Geez, there's something wrong with that picture!

Ask Missy Swain at Burke's Market at Lahontan Reservoir to tell you about the crazy bet she made with the two drivers of the Budweiser Beer truck.

Lucky for the two of them, they won that bet!

Then, ask Missy Swain about her niece's boat sinking at Pyramid Lake over the holiday weekend. It is a long and convoluted story, but absolutely fascinating!

Geez, owning a boat can become a HUGE problem, especially when it sinks!
