Burdette Murphy, 60, a one-year Carson City resident, died May 26, 2006 in Carson City.

Mr. Murphy was born March 15, 1946 in Freeport, Ill., to Beryl Murphy and Alice Prasse.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Murphy lived in Sparks for 10 years.

He graduated from Western High School in Los Alometas, Calif.

He was a service writer in the automotive industry.

He served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his fiancee, Lavonna Pitkin; brothers and sisters-in-law Larry and Reba Murphy and Rod and Terri Murphy and numerous extended-family members.

Cremation took place at Walton's Crematory, and inurnment took place in Portland, Ore.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
