Final reminder of Free Fishing Day

This is a final reminder that Saturday, June 10, is Free Fishing Day in both Nevada and California.

You will be able to fish, without a fishing license, anywhere you desire in either state or even in both states on that day. Fishing will be free but you will need to abide by all of the regular rules and regulations that govern whatever water(s) you will be fishing.

Some of the more popular waters in this area will be:

Nevada:

East Carson River in Douglas County.

Main Carson River, east of Carson City.

Davis Creek Pond at Davis Creek Park in Washoe Valley.

Desert Creek in Douglas County.

Lahontan Reservoir in Churchill County.

Davis Creek Pond in Washoe Valley.

Paradise Pond in Northern Reno.

Sparks Marina in Sparks.

Truckee River in Washoe County.

East Walker River in Lyon County.

Wilson Common Pond in Washoe Valley.

California:

Bridgeport Reservoir

East Carson River near Markleeville.

West Carson River from Woodfords to Hope Valley.

Davis Lake near Portola.

Frenchman Reservoir near Chilcoot.

Indian Creek Reservoir, located midway between Woodfords and Markleeville.

June Lake Loop (Grant, Gull, June and Silver Lakes and Rush Creek).

Red Lake, Caples Lake and Silver Lake, all located near Kit Carson Pass.

Stampede Reservoir near Truckee.

Upper and Lower Twin Lakes, west of Bridgeport.
