Manuel Briseno, 84, a one-year Carson City resident, died Nov. 1, 2006, in Carson City.

Mr. Briseno was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Ocotlan, Mexico.

He married Frances Simmons on May 31, 1953, in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Briseno lived in Coarse Gold, Calif., for 12 years.

He was a warehouse man for the Naval Supply Depot for 30 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He belonged to the Elks' Lodge and was Catholic.

He was preceded in death by two children, Bruce and Gayle; by one brother and one sister.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters Sharon Young of Augusta, Ga., and Jessica Abersold of Cottonwood, Calif.; son Marc Briseno of Dayton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City. Private family services are scheduled.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
