AAA of Nevada will be providing free alternative fuel information at local offices throughout the month of November in recognition of Hybrid Awareness Month.

Spring scholarships available at WNCC

The deadline to apply for a scholarship to attend the Spring 2007 semester at Western Nevada Community College is Dec. 1. Information on local and nationwide scholarships and financial aid is available online or through the WNCC Financial Assistance Office.

Nevada Day/Halloween photos on Web site

Gov. Kenny Guinn is encouraging visitors to the events of Nevada Day and Halloween to visit the state Web site to view and print pictures of their family and friends.

State photographer Richard Johnston took these digital prints, and the state has uploaded them to the Web site for ease in downloading and printing by the state's residents.

Airport authority to meet

The Carson City Airport Authority will meet at 6 p.m. in the Terminal Building at the Carson City Airport, 2600 East College Parkway.

Discussions will focus on airport master plan, layout plan. Environmental assessment, and funding matters.

Also scheduled is discussion about gate card fees.

Blood drive planned

United Blood Services and Lotus Radio Broadcasting are inviting the community to be a part of the 2006 Veterans Day "American Heroes Blood Drive." The United Blood Center at 256 E. Carson High School to hold craft fair

The 12th annual Carson High School Holiday Craft Fair will be Friday and Saturday, featuring more than 100 crafters and artisans, food, raffles, and photos with Santa. The fair runs from 5-8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $2 Friday and $1.50 Saturday, or $1 with a canned food item on Saturday. Children and students are free.
