What's open and closed for the Veterans Day holiday Friday:

Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County schools will all be closed.

All Western Nevada Community College campuses will be closed.

United States Post Office branches nationwide will be closed.

The Federal Reserve will be closed, so most banks will be closed. Check your local branch for more information.

The Carson City and Storey County senior citizens centers will both be open Friday. The Douglas County, Dayton, and Silver Springs senior citizens centers will be closed Friday.

DMV offices will be closed Friday and Saturday.

CARSON CITY

The Carson City Marriage Bureau will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, but there will not be a judge on hand to perform ceremonies on Friday, only Saturday.

The front desk of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed. Officers and dispatch will operate as usual.

The Carson City Library will be closed.

Jump Around Carson will be running Friday and Saturday.

The Nevada State Museum and the Nevada State Railroad Museum will both be open normal hours Friday.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will be open.

LYON COUNTY

All Lyon County Library branches will be closed Friday.

All public offices, including the marriage bureau, will be closed Friday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY

The Douglas County Public Libraries will both be closed Saturday.

The front desk of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed. Officers and dispatch will operate as usual.

DART will not be running.

The Douglas County Marriage Bureau in Minden will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on an on-call basis. The Lake Tahoe branch will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
