November Jazz, a program of big-band jazz for listening and dancing, will be right here in Carson City. You can learn to swing dance prior to the performance by the Mile High Jazz Band.
The band starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, which includes five trumpets, four trombones, five saxophones, keyboard and bass. But from 6-7:30p.m., with an additional $5, you can learn to swing.
This is a fun way to start the week, and what else is going on Tuesday night in the capital? Get those dance shoes out, and come down to swing the night away at Comma Coffee.

These days, many grandparents raise children - one of the most remarkable demographic changes in American society over the last few decades.
Having had experience with children in care of grandparents while working the with the school district's homeless program, I know first-hand this is a growing population that needs assistance.
During my years at the school district I had the pleasure of working with several grandparents. One was this wonderful lady, Phyllis Trail, who is now providing an outreach support group to grandparents as well as other relatives raising children.
Phyllis points out, "So many relatives, especially grandparents, need encouragement, the knowledge of available resources and experienced advice for medical, dental, financial assistance."
She has designed a support group, Grandparents as Parents, and I think it is worth your time to visit.

When I saw this one in my e-mail, I thought, Christmas already? But get ready because there are only 52 days left.
It took me by surprise, but Christmas is right around the corner, folks.
Your grandchildren and children will love this Christmas tale, answering once and for all how Santa Claus made the first toy, why he climbs down chimneys and, most of all, how he learned to laugh that great ho, ho, ho.
This is worth getting tickets to. It's a perfect holiday entertainment for the entire family, and the cost is reasonable.
