RPEN to meet today


The Carson City Chapter of Retired Public Employees of Nevada will hold its next meeting at 2 p.m. today at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. Vince Pirozzi will speak on the EMT Program and the ambulance service. All retired public employees are welcome. Call 883-6334.


Telcom Pioneers to hold dinner meeting


The Telcom Pioneers will hold its dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at Mom and Pop's Diner on Carson Street. This group is a nonprofit organization which supports community programs. All interested current, past and retired Telcom persons and guests are invited. Cost of dinner is $16 per person; it is a Thanksgiving dinner. For information, or to reserve a seat, call 882-5205.


Demonstration of framing artwork


The Nevada Artists Association will be holding a talk and demonstration on how to frame your artwork with Valerie Morgan, owner of Heart and Home Gallery in Carson City, at 1 p.m. today at the Brewery Arts Center Gallery. Call 267-9167.


Mile High Jazz Band to perform tonight


The Mile High Jazz Band will perform "November Jazz" from 8-10 p.m. tonight at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St. Admission is $5 at the door, and $4 for members of the Mile High Jazz Band Association. Those under 18 are free. Swing dance instruction will be 6-7:30 p.m. and is $5. Call 883-4154.

Submarine vets to rededicate memorial


The U.S. Submarine Veterans Inc. will rededicate its sub memorial at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nevada State Veterans Cemetery in Fernley. The NJROTC unit from Damonte Ranch High School will serve as the honor guard. Call 267-4159.
