Frances N. Merola, 104, a 23-year Gardnerville resident, died Nov. 15, 2006, in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Merola was born Dec. 25, 1901, in Corio, Italy, to Enrico Cerva and Francesca Cat-Rastler.
She married Nickolas Merola in 1920 in Los Angeles.
Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Merola lived in Los Angeles.
She attended school up to eighth grade.
She played in vaudeville in the 1920s, and was a tailorist.
She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in Los Angeles.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Sandra Ryan of Gardnerville; grandchildren Duane Ryan and Darleen Ryan-Paul; and great-grandchildren Channea and Skyler Ryan.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. Private family services will be held at a later date.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
