A funeral with military honors for Darrell Dean Dillard, 67, a 22-year Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. A viewing will begin 10 a.m. in the chapel.

Mr. Dillard died Nov. 20, 2006, at his home. He was born Oct. 23, 1939, in Chillicothe, Mo., to Elijah Glenn Dillard and Gladys Oneita Dowell.

He married Nelda Joyce Dillard on April 12, 1960, in Oxnard, Calif.

He graduated from Ventura High School in 1957.

He was a retired press brake operator for American Buildings Co., and a taxi driver for Capital Cab Co.

He retired as a sergeant first class from the U.S. Army and belonged to the Lion's Club.

He was preceded in death by his father in September of 1976 in Ventura, Calif., and by his mother in May 2004 in Ventura.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Patricia Anne and Robert Edward Babb of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Donald Gene and Valerie ReneƩ Dillard of Carson City; sisters Carol Momeier of Charleston, S.C. and Darlene Smith of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous extended relatives.

Burial will take place at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Memorial donations may be made to the Darrell Dillard Memorial Fund, 3301 Airport Road, Carson City, NV 89706.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
