Flu clinic Thursday


There will be a flu clinic hosted by Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the Carson Mall. All clinics are open to the public, and no appointments are necessary. Flu shots are recommended for those with chronic illnesses and those over 55 years of age. Call 445-5595.




Album-making class at the Senior Center


There will be a free class/workshop on preserving photos into safe, meaningful albums at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center's Jobs Peak Room.


Participants should bring some photos to make a sampler with.

Greeting card workshop at the senior center


The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be holding a "Greeting Card Workshop" from 1-3 p.m. Friday and Dec. 8.


Cost is $15. Registrations are being accepted at the business office at the center.

'Pickles' comic creator to speak at WNCC


Brian Crane, author of the "Pickles" comic strip, will be speaking at 7 p.m. Friday at Western Nevada Community College's Marlette Hall. This lecture is free, but seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call 445-3000.




'Life and Adventures of Santa Claus' at the BAC


Carson Performing Arts will present "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," based on the book by L. Frank Baum, as it's annual fundraiser for the Brewery Arts Center, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Dec. 8, and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Dec. 9 and 10.


Cost is $5 for children and students with student body cards, $7 for students, seniors, and Brewery Arts Center members, $8 general admission, and $25 for a family of four. To purchase tickets, call 883-1976.




'Artful Afternoons' in December at the BAC


The Artisan's Store at the Brewery Arts Center presents "Artful Afternoons," from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 9, and featuring music from "Strings in the Wind" and "Wild Sage."

Audubon Society holds photography presentation of Tanzania


The Lahontan Audubon Society will be holding a photography presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Valleys Library, 15650A Wedge Parkway, off of Mount Rose Highway.
