"Right hand over your heart. Ready, begin."

With that Joshua Buchan and 18 other voices sounded in unity, "We pledge allegiance to the flag . . ."

Joshua's class was one of five at Seeliger Elementary School chosen to record the pledge to be played on the radio this week.

"We take classes from all over Northern Nevada and have them say the "Pledge of Allegiance," then we play it on the radio," said Tim Lynah, morning show co-host on Cub Country 94.5. "It's the cutest thing to have the students do it, plus we get different versions based on what the teacher has them do."

"of the United States of America."

Lynah is part of the morning trio of Tim, Malayna and Tim on the Reno-based country station, heard at 94.3 in Carson City.

For the last two years, the show has ended the 7 a.m. newscast with local children saying the pledge. Schools from the entire listening area, including Minden, Washoe Valley, Stead and Silver Springs, have been featured on the project.

"And to the republic, for which it stands,"

The threesome goes to each school personally, meeting the children and recording them saying the pledge.

"It's just so cool for us to meet these kids and get to do this all the time. It's just fun for us," Lynah said.

"One nation, under God, indivisible,"

"Yeah, I'm going to be a superstar," said Sean Miller, a first-grader, when he was told he would be on the radio. His excitement was soon compounded as Cubby, the station's large furry mascot, entered the room.

In each class, one student was selected to introduce the class and lead the reciting the pledge.

Five first- and second-grade classes at Seeliger will be on the radio this week. Monday will be Mrs. Hartley; Tuesday is Mr. Deacy and Mr. Fruth's class; Wednesday will feature Mrs. Hallinan and Mrs. Edgington's class; Thursday will be Ms. Kato and Mrs. Hornemann's class; and Friday will have Mrs. Gould's class.

"With liberty and justice for all."
