Ralphia Elges, 89, a two-year Gardnerville resident, died Nov. 26, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Elges was born Oct. 22, 1917, in San Francisco, Calif., to Ralph Montague and Marguerita Rojas.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Elges lived in Reno for 30 years.

She had a bachelor's degree in nursing.

She was the owner and operator of Elges Nursing Chateau in Reno for 25 years.

She belonged to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City and was a third order Carmelite.

She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy and her mother.

Among her survivors are her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Elges; daughters Daria Frank of Gardnerville and Pam Elges of Baker City, Ore.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Memorial donations may be made to Barton's Hospice of the Valley.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
